As the Monaco America chapter begins its 10th year of existence, it’s time to share and reflect on the workings and the people of our outstanding club. We are a Monaco-focused chapter of FMCA with approximately 500 member coaches.
We host two rallies each year. Because we are international in scope, our rallies are held in various locations throughout the Lower 48 states, from Virginia to Arizona. As with most clubs, our get-togethers are coordinated by a very dedicated core group of volunteers, and run in a manner to ensure all our members truly enjoy the events. Our rally attendance varies from 50 to 100-plus coaches; because of this, we are able to hold the rallies at sites that provide full hookups, and in quite interesting parts of our wonderful country.
Our goal is to provide enjoyment and educational opportunities for all rally attendees. The ladies of Monaco America sponsor a local charity at each of our rallies as part of their Monaco America Ladies’ Tea. They have a significant impact on the chosen charity and make us all so proud.
We also enjoy entertainment, games, and wonderful catered meals. Our most frequent entertainers are Ron and Kay Rivoli and their Rivoli Revue and Gospel Hour. We have shared some very competitive games of beanbag toss, washer toss, and bingo — and even a ladies' skillet toss. A large number of our rally seminars are put on by highly qualified Monaco America members.
Everyone is welcome to visit our Web site, www.monacoamerica.com, and learn more about us. Of particular interest to those considering joining Monaco America is the fact that our chapter's previous and current newsletters, "Monaco America News," can be read at the Web site. These quarterly publications give newcomers a good idea of what our chapter is like.
Monaco America is open to FMCA members who own coaches manufactured by Monaco Coach Corporation and Monaco RV LLC. Chapter members are welcome to invite guests who have other brands of coaches to our rallies at a nominal additional cost.
Monaco America’s next rally will be held May 16 though 19, 2011, at the Guadalupe River RV Resort in Kerrville, Texas. This is in the beautiful Hill Country, not far from San Antonio and all of its attractions. We expect to hold our 2011 fall rally in Louisiana during the month of October; however, plans are not yet finalized.
Chapter dues are $25 the first year, and $15 annually thereafter. To learn even more about Monaco America you may contact me, Gary Granat, at (219) 921-6694,
