2nd Chapter Fair on tap

By Todd Moning
FMCA.com editor

FMCA members enjoy the motorhoming lifestyle. Those who belong to one or more chapters say the fun, information exchange and relationships formed through chapter involvement heighten their enjoyment.

To encourage chapter membership, FMCA held its first Chapter Fair in March 2004 during the "Albuquerque Adventure" convention in Albuquerque, N.M.

Enthusiasm spreads
Approximately 110 FMCA chapters from coast to coast set up creative displays and promoted chapter membership in Albuquerque.

"Their enthusiasm was contagious," said Loretta Buob, FMCA's director of Chapter Services. "Several FMCA members joined more than one chapter right on the spot. The participating chapters also enjoyed getting to know other chapters from the United States and Canada."

The success of the Chapter Fair in Albuquerque prompted FMCA to schedule another one during the Perry 2005 convention. It's set for Monday, March 21, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Multipurpose Building at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter. All convention-goers are encouraged to experience the magic of chapter membership by attending the fair.

A chapter for everyone
Most of FMCA's 482 chapters share a common geographical area. About 90 of those are based on a special interest such as motorhome brand, crafts, golf or other hobby.

If there's ever an opportunity to find a chapter that matches your interest or that is in your geographic area, the Chapter Fair is it.

You can learn everything you want to know about chapter membership: How do I join? Where and how often does a chapter meet? What takes place at chapter gatherings? How do I start a new chapter? To top it off, you'll meet plenty of friendly folks at the same time.

"Many FMCA chapters would love for you to become part of their family," Buob said. "And what better way to meet so many potential friends than in a place where you can talk with so many of them one-on-one?"

Win a prize
At the Perry fair, non-chapter members will be eligible to win one of five Wal-Mart gift certificates. Participating chapters can win ribbons and FMCA logo merchandise.

Chapters interested in participating in the Chapter Fair should have their chapter president contact Dianna Mitts at dmitts@fmca.com or (800) 543-3622, ext. 210.
