Southeast Area
Seminar 1, with George Schipper
Southeast Area national vice president George Schipper, F17603, and
his wife, Ann, along with the SEA Association officers and
volunteers just had a very successful rally at the Hernando County
Airport in Brooksville, Florida. We have one of the largest area
rallies in FMCA and if you would like to hear more about it, come to
our gathering where we have 75 great chapters from the states of
Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Mississippi. We are always looking
for more motorhome folks to join in on the fun and fellowship with
them.
We are proud to be the host area for this convention and have
provided more than 650 volunteers for this convention. We are
fortunate to have such great members who support FMCA and invite you
to come and meet our SEA Association officers as well as many of our
members who are in attendance. Come join us. Renew friendships and
meet new friends! You might even find a chapter you would like to
join! All are welcome!
Eastern Area
Seminar 2, with Judy Czarsty
Bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the mighty
Mississippi River in Memphis, Tennessee, to the west, you'll find
plenty to see and do in this part of the country to keep you busy –
including FMCA Eastern Area chapter activities. If you're from
Delaware, the District of Columbia, Kentucky, Maryland, North
Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, or West
Virginia, or if you are a member of one of the 48 chapters in the
Eastern Area or wish to become a member, you'll want to attend this
gathering and meet your Eastern Area vice president, Judy Czarsty,
F79148, and her husband, Steve. The agenda includes the scope of the
Eastern Area; recognition and introduction of first-timers,
non-chapter members, special guests, and area chapters represented;
Eastern Area rally plans for 2005 and beyond; Eastern Area Motorhome
Association update; a question-and-answer period; and any other new
or old business.
Northeast Area
Seminar 3, with Bill Conway
The Northeast Area is comprised of the six New England states; New
Jersey and New York; and north of the border there are the five
Maritime Provinces and the province of Quebec. Anyone living in this
area or on the fringe of our boundaries is welcome to meet Bill
Conway, F99081, Northeast Area vice president, and his wife, Pat,
and any current chapter members in attendance. There are 42 active
chapters with various scopes and specialties to meet most people’s
aspirations. There are brand types, activity-related types, long and
short driving distance types, and large and small sizes as well.
Some chapters have the minimum of members while some exceed 250.
Bill and Pat can inform you of the extra activities available in the
general area. One of the most rewarding things in joining a chapter
is meeting new friends with similar interests and bonding with a
small group where you make long trips together. Over the years we
have taken trips lasting two or three weeks with five to seven
motorhomes. Traveling in a caravan is the way to go. Taking photos
and videotapes of the trip and looking back later to show new
friends all the enjoyment and stories that happen on every trip,
that’s the good life. This is how lasting friendships are made.
South Central Area
Seminar 4, with Tony Innocenti
Throughout Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, and
Texas, you'll find some of the nicest FMCA members in the country.
Representatives of the South Central Area’s 45 chapters and the
Six-State Rally Association are interested in telling you about the
many activities that take place in this part of the country. Many of
them will be at the South Central Area gathering along with Tony
Innocenti, F56315, South Central Area national vice president, and
his wife, Geri. They'll introduce you to some "high country" fun
through their area chapters and the upcoming Six-State Rally. Take a
few minutes to meet some new friends and learn about the South
Central Area chapters that interest you. See you there!
Midwest Area
Seminar 5, with Nelson K. Stubbs
The Midwest Area consists of Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska,
North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and the provinces of
Saskatchewan and Manitoba, Canada. If you are here from these areas,
please attend the Midwest Area gathering. Meet your area vice
president, Nelson K. Stubbs, F107765; his wife, Janet; and other
Midwest Area Cooperative (MAC) officers. Hear what's new in the
Midwest. If you're interested in joining a chapter or meeting other
RVing people such as yourself, plan to attend and enjoy the fun.
Rocky Mountain Area
Seminar 6, with Duane Pindell
The Rocky Mountain Area stretches from the coal mines of Gillette,
Wyoming, to the Sonoran desert of Arizona; from the casinos of
Nevada to the volcanoes of New Mexico; and also includes the scenic
states of Colorado and Utah. If you live in one of these states, or
love to visit them, you will want to join us at the Rocky Mountain
Area gathering to hear first-hand what is happening in our area.
Meet area vice president Duane Pindell, F105443; his wife, Rosalie;
and the RMMA officers to hear what they have planned for the 2005
Rocky Mountain Ramble to be held in Winnemucca, Nevada, from
September 14 through 17, 2005.
Northwest Area
Seminar 7, with Jim Phillips
If you hail from the "Beautiful Northwest Area" and parts
thereabouts – Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, the
provinces of British Columbia and Alberta, as well as the Yukon
Territory and the Northwest Territories, Canada – drop by for a
visit with your Northwest Area vice president, Jim Phillips,
F158824, and his wife, Ann. You also can visit with many of the
folks from the Northwest Area. Learn about the area's active
chapters, all 35 of them, and find out why you might wish to join
one or more of the chapters in order to get greater enjoyment and
fun out of your FMCA membership. There will be members from many of
our chapters for you to get acquainted. You don't have to live in
the Northwest, you only have to be interested in it. We hope to see
you there. Also, if you will be in the Pacific Northwest in June of
this year, we invite you to attend our Northwest Area Rally from
June 9 to 11, 2005. We will treat you royally.
Great Lakes Area
Seminar 9, with Ginny McGrath
From the many ports on the Great Lakes and the Ohio River, through
the grassy plains and rich farmlands of Ohio and Indiana, to the
crystal-clear lakes and industrial cities of Michigan, then across
the border to the beautiful countryside of Ontario, Canada, with its
large and extremely well-kept cities, the Great Lakes Area is as
fine a place as there is in North America. If you call this area
home, or if you would just like to, please stop by and meet Ginny
McGrath, F87335, your Great Lakes Area vice president, and her
husband, Don, along with fellow Great Lakers.
Western Area
Seminar 10, with Tony Vincent
The Western Area consists of 62 chapters located primarily in
California, with one chapter based in the Reno, Nevada, area.
Western Area national vice president Tony Vincent, F161584, and his
wife, Betty, will be on hand to greet you. We just completed our
17th annual Western Area Rally, "Fabulous 50s," and it truly was a
blast from the past. Plans are being made for the 2006 area rally
where attendees will enjoy "Puttin' On The Glitz, California Style."
Don't forget to mark your calendars. Please join us to hear about
the variety of chapter activities available. We appreciate the
support from our Western Area members, the governing board, and the
officers. We welcome non-chapter members to the gathering and hope
that you can take the time to share in the fun and fellowship of
FMCA.

UNDERSTANDING STEERING & ALIGNMENT PROBLEMS, SEMINAR 4
In this seminar, Robert Henderson from Henderson's Line-Up/SuperSteer,
C5009, will discuss the common and not-so-common complaints of
steering-related handling problems. With motorhomes having varied
wheelbases, rear overhangs, slideouts, and generator placements, a

problems. Questions will be taken after the seminar.
11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
GOVERNMENTAL & LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS, SEMINAR 5

local governments and/or community associations to restrict the
parking of motorhomes on privately owned residential property.

this problem and offer suggestions about how to proceed in such
instances. In recent years, FMCA has been quite involved with issues

The instructor will address the different state gun laws and
interpretations that confuse the issue for multi-state RVers,
particularly as it relates to carrying a concealed handgun in your
vehicle and on your person, including some examples of gun laws in
various states. Most importantly, this seminar will provide a
thorough examination of the legal, moral, and practical realities of
carrying a firearm for personal safety and using it for defensive
deadly force. Handguns, shotguns, rifles, and new non-lethal
defensive tools will be addressed. This is not a class on
recreational shooting, hunting, or firearms competition. This class
is particularly important for those who don't own firearms but are
considering buying one and those who have never used firearms for
personal defense but think it will be easy. It is also a course for
those who think that firearms have no place in modern "civilized"
society.

Sales, C5897, about air filter maintenance and restriction gauge
inspections. Mr. Allison has been around RV diesel engines for the
past 14 years, both as a diesel owner and diesel business owner.
Learn how a clean air filter can save your engine, reduce fuel
costs, and add horsepower. The importance of clean, adequate air
cannot be overlooked with today's turbocharged engines. Whether you
are a longtime diesel owner or a new one, you should come to this
seminar. Your air filter is the "heart" of your engine.
1:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
TOWING ROUNDTABLE, SEMINAR 4
The goal of this seminar is to provide FMCA members with the
information needed to tow a vehicle behind a motorhome safely and
with peace of mind. More technical questions are directed to FMCA
regarding towing than any other area of concern. If done properly,
towing a vehicle behind a motorhome can be a positive experience.
Tow bars, tow dollies, lube pumps, driveshaft disconnects,
front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, four-wheel drive, towed car
wiring, and covers for towed vehicles are a few of the topics that
will be discussed. Jim Brightly, technical editor of Family
Motor Coaching magazine, will moderate this seminar. Panelists
will include convention towing equipment exhibitors. Ample time will
be allowed for questions from the audience. Supplemental braking
will NOT be discussed at this seminar. There will be a seminar

Convention exhibitors will be on hand to discuss the technical
aspects of supplemental braking. Information will be provided to
bring FMCA convention attendees "up to speed" on the latest, most
accurate information regarding the laws relating to supplemental
braking of towed vehicles. Jim Brightly, technical editor of Family
