CHAPTER FAIR
Tuesday, August 15
10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Concourse Level, near Gate 3

Come find out one of the best-kept secrets of FMCA — chapter membership. This is a rare opportunity to see individual chapters showcasing their unique qualities — music, golfing, gaming, dining, sharing coach tips, or just kibitzing about motorhoming experiences. The variety of chapters will astound you, but watch out. Chapter members are exceptionally enthusiastic about this way of life ... it can be contagious. Door prizes will be awarded to several lucky non-chapter members.

CHARITIES
FMCA “can” make a difference in the lives of many families in the Charlotte/Concord, North Carolina, areas by supporting the official charities for FMCA’s 76th International Convention: The Cooperative Christian Ministry’s Food Pantry program and Speedway Children’s Charities.

To assist the food pantry, convention attendees are asked to bring a canned good or other food item to the Information Center at the Nextel Garage beginning on Sunday, August 13. The Cooperative Christian Ministry will pick up these items during the convention. The last pickup will be Thursday afternoon. Here are the current food pantry needs:

  • Cans of fruit
  • Cans of beans (pork and beans, pinto, kidney)
  • Mustard, mayonnaise
  • Cans of vegetables (potatoes, peas, carrots, mixed vegetables)
  • Cans of meat products
  • Cans of soup
  • Personal products (shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes)
  • Paper products (toilet tissue, paper towels, diapers)
  • Detergent

Speedway Children’s Charities is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children!

Founded in 1984 by O. Bruton Smith in Charlotte, North Carolina, Speedway Children’s Charities began as a single fundraising event prior to the Coca-Cola 600 race.

Over the years the children’s charity has grown from one event a year to a nationally recognized charity with chapters located at each Speedway Motorsports Inc. facility.

The priority is improving the quality of life for children in need and that mission has remained the same throughout more than two decades of growth. Through donations, sponsorship, and fund-raising events, Speedway Children’s Charities distributes funds to qualified non-profit organizations.

A seminar where you can find out more about “Helping Children In Need” will be presented by Deborah Wilson on Tuesday, 9:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in Seminar 3.

Motor sports print prize drawing: Sam Bass, one of the most accomplished artists in the history of motor sports, has donated a signed and numbered 23-inch-by-20-inch print titled "Survival of the Fastest!" The print will be displayed at the Speedway Children's Charities table in the Information Center. Stop by the table to purchase your raffle tickets for this valuable keepsake.
