Celebrate family in Pomona
Nearly 4,000 motorhomes and 10,000 to
12,000 people are expected to gather at Fairplex in Pomona, Calif.,
for FMCA’s “Celebrating Family” convention, March 20-23.
The public is invited to participate.
Exhibits
Approximately 800 motorhomes representing a variety of styles and
price ranges will be on display. Manufacturers and dealers will
showcase the latest luxuries and innovations in production-line
units, bus conversion vehicles and custom-built motor coaches.
In addition, more than 600 booths will
feature RV accessories, motorhome components, supplies, home
products and more. Admission
The daily fee for viewing motorhomes and booth displays is $7 per
person; children 12 and under are admitted free with an accompanying
adult. The $7 pass is also valid for admittance to daytime
entertainment, and to a new buyers seminar on March 20.
A Daily Passport that provides
admittance to the exhibits, seminars and daytime and evening
entertainment will be offered for $45 per person.
Hours
Exhibit hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and
Thursday, March 21, 22 and 23. The motorhome displays will be open
for a sneak preview on Monday, March 20, from 3 to 7 p.m.
Public parking
Public parking (self parking) will be available at Fairplex Gate 9
off White Avenue. The fairgrounds parking fee is $8 per day; $16 per
day for RVs. VIP parking is available at the Sheraton Suites for
$10. Learn about motorhoming
On March 20, one seminar is open to public gate patrons who are
interested in being a full-time RVer, a frequent RV traveler or just
an occasional user.
"Selecting the Right Motorhome for Your Needs" will be offered from
3:15 to 4:30 p.m. at Fairplex Building (Seminar 7).
This seminar is designed for those
visitors to the outdoor exhibits who do not own a motorhome. Topics
include:
- types of motorhomes,
- fundamentals of the various
systems found on motorhomes, and
- advantages and disadvantages
of owning and operating a motorhome.
Jim Brightly, technical editor of
Family Motor Coaching magazine, and Don Eversmann, FMCA
executive director, will present the seminar. Time will be
allotted for questions from the audience.
Following the seminar, there will be
time to visit the "motorhome preview" displays, which will be
open until 7 p.m. The "
Selecting the Right Motorhome for Your Needs " seminar is free
with a paid Monday admission. Monday’s admission ticket is good
on Tuesday, March 21, as well.
