Celebrate family in Pomona

Nearly 4,000 motorhomes and 10,000 to 12,000 people are expected to gather at Fairplex in Pomona, Calif., for FMCA’s “Celebrating Family” convention, March 20-23.

The public is invited to participate.

Exhibits
Approximately 800 motorhomes representing a variety of styles and price ranges will be on display. Manufacturers and dealers will showcase the latest luxuries and innovations in production-line units, bus conversion vehicles and custom-built motor coaches.

In addition, more than 600 booths will feature RV accessories, motorhome components, supplies, home products and more.

Admission
The daily fee for viewing motorhomes and booth displays is $7 per person; children 12 and under are admitted free with an accompanying adult. The $7 pass is also valid for admittance to daytime entertainment, and to a new buyers seminar on March 20.

A Daily Passport that provides admittance to the exhibits, seminars and daytime and evening entertainment will be offered for $45 per person.

Hours
Exhibit hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, March 21, 22 and 23. The motorhome displays will be open for a sneak preview on Monday, March 20, from 3 to 7 p.m.

Public parking
Public parking (self parking) will be available at Fairplex Gate 9 off White Avenue. The fairgrounds parking fee is $8 per day; $16 per day for RVs. VIP parking is available at the Sheraton Suites for $10.

Learn about motorhoming
On March 20, one seminar is open to public gate patrons who are interested in being a full-time RVer, a frequent RV traveler or just an occasional user.
"Selecting the Right Motorhome for Your Needs" will be offered from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. at Fairplex Building (Seminar 7).

This seminar is designed for those visitors to the outdoor exhibits who do not own a motorhome. Topics include:

  • types of motorhomes,
  • fundamentals of the various systems found on motorhomes, and
  • advantages — and disadvantages — of owning and operating a motorhome.

Jim Brightly, technical editor of Family Motor Coaching magazine, and Don Eversmann, FMCA executive director, will present the seminar. Time will be allotted for questions from the audience.

Following the seminar, there will be time to visit the "motorhome preview" displays, which will be open until 7 p.m.

The " Selecting the Right Motorhome for Your Needs " seminar is free with a paid Monday admission. Monday’s admission ticket is good on Tuesday, March 21, as well.

Head on out to Pomona. Join the family. Join the fun.
