What is the location of FMCA's 77th International Convention?
The Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter in Perry, Georgia,
will be the host location for the convention.
| NEWS FLASH! The Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter (GNFA)
has upgraded the parking areas to assist in drainage in case of
rain. Capital expenditures of more than $1.2 million will
significantly improve the transportation of convention attendees to
and from their coaches to activity areas. The trams will be able to
navigate through all the parking lots in all kinds of weather
conditions. The intention is that no coach will be parked more than
100 yards from a paved road. |

What are the dates of the convention in Perry?
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, March 19, 20, 21, and 22,
2007.

Will everyone be parked at the fairgrounds?
Yes. Please refer to the Convention Parking Procedures in the
January 2007 issue of Family Motor Coaching magazine.

What is the surface of the parking lots?
The surface is grass.

What about electric service?
Hookups for 30-amp electric service are available but limited. Be
sure to preregister for electric service when you register for
convention. An additional 10-guage electric cord may be necessary if
your motorhome cord does not reach the provided 30-amp receptacle.
If you need to cancel your request for electric, you must do so in
writing on or before February 9. From February 10, 2007, to February
28, 2007, electric will be refunded at $80, provided the request is
received in writing. We’re sorry, but cancellations received after
February 28, 2007, will not be refunded due to commitments with the
electrical contractor.

When will electric service be available?
Electric service begins at 9 a.m. Sunday, March 18, and ends at 9
a.m. Friday, March 23.

What about weather?
Beautiful! Be sure to pack your sunglasses and your umbrella! It's
usually very pleasant in March in Middle Georgia with mostly sunny
days. The average high temperature in March is 68 degrees.

If I register early, will I save any money?
Yes, register by February 26, 2007, for the $20 Early Bird discount.

Will I be able to register for the convention on-site?
Yes. Pre-registration is recommended. However, if you decide after
the deadline to attend the convention, go to the Holding Area
located at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter to
register. Registration will be located at the Holding Area beginning
Friday, March 16, at 7 a.m. through Monday, March 19, at 5 p.m., and
then moved to the Information Center in the
McGill Marketplace
for the duration of the convention.

Are there other advantages to registering early?
Besides the lower cost, early registrations receive early entry
dates. Many families prefer to beat the crowd and get parked early.
Actually, you are helping FMCA and the other convention attendees by
preregistering and arriving on your early entrance day.

In case of an emergency, is there
a way for family and friends to contact me?
The family member Information Center and emergency phone number is
478-988-6615, beginning Saturday, March 17, 2007. Be sure to fill
out a locator card you received in your confirmation packet and turn
it in. The locator card is the only way of finding you in the
parking area should you need to be located for an emergency. Blank
cards are available at the Holding Area registration office or at
the Information Center located in the
McGill Marketplace.

begin?

Is food included in my registration cost?
The following food events are sponsored:
Coffee and doughnuts on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 7 a.m.
to 9
a.m. at the Daytime Entertainment area in Sheep Barn 1.
Ice Cream Social on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Georgia Jubilee
Entertainment Stage in the motorhome exhibits.
Beginning on Monday, March 19, there will be plenty of food vendors
around the grounds. Check your convention program for locations.

When will I receive my registration material?
You will receive your confirmation packet that will include your
parking and admittance credentials approximately three weeks after
your registration is received at FMCA. Confirmation packets will be
mailed as soon as December 28, 2006. Registrations postmarked after
February 26, 2007, will be held and processed as gate registrations.
You can pick them up at Will Call in Perry.

What happens if I have to cancel?
You will receive a refund if your request is received in writing by
March 9, 2007. Your confirmation packet, including credentials for
parking and badges, must be returned before a refund will be
processed.
If you need to cancel your request for electric, you must do so in
writing on or before February 9. From February 10, 2007, to February
28, 2007, electric will be refunded at $80, provided the request is
received in writing. We’re sorry, but cancellations received after
February 28, 2007, will not be refunded due to commitments with the
electrical contractor.
All cancellations are subject to a $10 handling fee.

This will be my first convention. What can I expect?
You can expect to have fun, meet new friends, shop for a new or used
motorhome, be entertained, learn how to maintain your coach, and
cook in your convection oven. This may be your first convention, but
it’s FMCA’s 77th. The executive board, convention committee, and
staff start planning each convention two years or more prior to the
convention dates. While every convention site is unique, the basics
of RV life will be provided for you.

What are the hours of the exhibits?
A Motorhome Exhibits Preview is scheduled for Monday, March 19,
2007, from 3 to
7 p.m.
Motorhome exhibits, component, and supplier exhibits are open
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, March 20, 21, and 22, 2007, from
8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Is the convention open to the general public?
Yes. A public gate pass and a daily passport are available.
A public gate pass (admittance to exhibits only) costs $7 per day
per person. Children 12 and under are admitted free. Public gate
passes are available Monday, March 19, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., and
Tuesday through Thursday, March 20-22, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday Daily Passports and public gate passes for the Motorhome
Preview Evening are also good for admittance on Tuesday.
A daily passport (admittance to exhibits, seminars, and evening
entertainment for the day) costs $35 per person for members and $45
per person for non-members. Daily passports are available Monday,
March 19, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Tuesday through Thursday, March
20-22, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

How can I exhibit at a convention?
FMCA mails exhibitor information to all FMCA commercial members.

As an exhibitor, may I attend seminars and entertainment?
Yes, be sure to wear your exhibitor badges.

What are the
seminars like?
The seminars begin on Monday, March 19, and continue Tuesday,
Wednesday, and Thursday, March 20-22. More than 100 seminars are
scheduled covering a variety of topics including how to maintain
your motorhome as well as create meals in it, too.
"Selecting the Right Motorhome for Your Needs," seminar is scheduled
on Monday afternoon, March 19, and will assist you in shopping for
your first or next motorhome purchase. This seminar is the only
seminar open to public gate patrons.

Do I have to sign up for seminars?
With a few exceptions, the seminars are included in your convention
registration fee. There are some seminars for which you must sign
up, such as make-and-take craft classes and the RV Safe Driving
Course. Registration begins on Monday, March 19, at 7 a.m. in the
Information Center located in the
McGill Marketplace. Some of
them fill up quickly.
Be sure to wear your convention name badge to the seminars.
You can register to have your coach weighed by the RV Safety &
Education Foundation on Monday, March 19, at 7 a.m. in the
Information Center located in the
McGill
Marketplace. Beginning
on Tuesday, March 20, you can register at the RV Safety Education
Foundation booth during exhibit hours.

What about common
courtesy?
Based on feedback from previous
conventions, we have compiled a non-inclusive list of
behavioral courtesies.
- Please welcome first-time convention attendees! They
can be identified by the brown ribbons attached
to their convention badges.
- Clean up after pets.
- Thank the sponsors!
- Thank the convention volunteers, too.
- Turn off your cell phones during seminars and entertainment. Ditto
for those little radios.
- Arrive on time for seminars and entertainment.
- Leave your camp site as clean as you found it.
- Check out every vendor’s merchandise.
- Buy a new motorhome.
- Recycle.
- Have fun!

Is motorhome service available?
Yes. The Service Center, located in the
McGill Marketplace, will
be open on Monday, March 19, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday,
Wednesday, and Thursday, March 20-22, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Service is
limited and some firms may direct you to service facilities outside
the grounds.

Is my pet welcome at an FMCA convention?
Yes. Pets must be kept in your coach parking area unless they are
providing service assistance. Pets are not allowed in activity
centers and indoor exhibit structures. Be considerate of others and
be a responsible pet owner when walking your pet and clean up after
it. In case you forget, we'll remind you in the daily newsletter,
too.

Will I be able to stay on convention property after the event?
All families must leave the grounds by 10 a.m. on Friday, March 23.
If you would like to stay longer, information will be available at

What is a Welcome Bag?
Upon parking in your final parking space, the Welcome Bags will be
available in the Pick Up Stations (ticket booths) in your parking
area. Important items in the bag are the convention program; daily
schedule of events and map; and the "Today" newsletter. The Welcome
Bag is also known as a goody bag.

The convention program will have lots of information about on-site
services. Representatives from the Perry Area Convention and
Visitors Bureau will be available to assist with questions relating
to services available in the local area.
