FLXIBLE FEVER
The Fairplex grounds will be filled with modern motorhomes, but one
old-timer might catch your eye. FMCA member David Rosique’s 1950
Flxible Visicoach will be on display in the Coach Display Area. It’s
a former transit bus converted to a motorhome in 1969 by a man whose
company worked on the “Spruce Goose,” Howard Hughes’ famed flying
boat. Mr. Rosiques’ Flxible is a close likeness of the vehicle
depicted on Family Motor Coach Association’s logo.
When FMCA’s California chapter held its
formation meeting at Fairplex in February 1965, about one-half of
the coaches in attendance were Flxibles. Jim Holifield, L387, one of
the chapter's founders, will be on hand at this exhibit, displaying
photos taken at the chapter’s formation meeting 47 years ago. He
also will answer questions about the history of the storied
California chapter. Please visit Jim on Monday, 1:00 p.m. to 2:00
