Golfers of all skill levels are encouraged to play in the FMCA International Golf Classic.
The event will take place Monday, March 22, at the Sandia Golf Club, a par-72 championship course located about two miles from Balloon Fiesta Park.
Four-person teams will be formed based on handicaps, and they will play a scramble format.
Play will begin on Monday morning with a shotgun start, meaning all golfers tee off simultaneously from different holes. “If we have enough golfers, we will also have an afternoon shotgun start as well,” said FMCA member Bill Marti, who is helping to organize the event.
Cost is $70 per person and includes:
- greens fees for 18 holes
- golf cart with GPS system
- driving range setup with complimentary range balls prior to play
- custom scorecards and scoreboard
To sign up for the FMCA International Golf Classic and pay your entry fee via credit card, call the FMCA national office at (800) 543-3622. Those who have not yet registered for the convention can sign up for the golf outing at the same time by calling the national office or via online registration.
The entry deadline is March 1.
In addition to various on-course prizes (closest to the hole, longest drive, etc.), prizes will be awarded for Best Scores. Winners will be announced at the Monday evening entertainment at Balloon Fiesta Park.
The Sandia Golf Club is a 7,772-yard course with 48 bunkers and challenging greens. The course is set amid the high desert landscape. Players can enjoy panoramic views of greater Albuquerque and the Sandia Mountains.
Participants are in for a special experience at this distinguished course, which is an amenity of the Sandia Resort & Casino. The course has been rated among the:

Marti said he is looking forward to enjoying this scenic southwestern golf course with motorhoming friends. “We welcome all convention attendees — duffers and skilled golfers alike — to join us for some fun and friendly competition.”
