During FMCA’s Perry 2014 Family Reunion, attendees will have several opportunities to reach out to others. The following charitable activities are planned in conjunction with the event.
Purses For A Purpose
FMCA will conduct a silent auction of purses loaded with goodies and donated by areas, chapters, family members, commercial members, national office staff and contractors for the Family Reunion.
So, put on your creative hat and come up with a purse (or shopping bag) for the silent auction. Please send an e-mail to Millie Cohen at
with the theme or name you have chosen for the purse or bag. Then, drop off your bag or purse at the Information Center in Perry.
Proceeds will benefit The Independence Fund, which assists wounded veterans and their families. It’s an all-volunteer non-profit fund, and its board of directors is composed entirely of combat veterans. Their administrative costs are less than 1 percent per year, which means 99 percent of every dollar received goes directly to a military veteran.
Loaves & Fishes
FMCA will conduct a peanut butter and jelly food drive to benefit the local Loaves & Fishes community pantry of South Houston County. This group always tries to keep a supply of peanut butter and jelly available for needy children and families.
FMCA wants to keep Loaves & Fishes’ shelves full during and after the "Passport To Perry" event. Please spread the word and ask that donations be delivered to the Information Center at Perry.
Perry Volunteer Outreach
The Professional RV Vendor's Chapter of FMCA will conduct a nonperishable food drive. Items can be dropped off at booth #1317 in McGill MarketPlace on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (March 18, 19 and 20).
Assisting others in the community in which FMCA Family Reunions are held, has become a tradition. FMCA encourages, and is grateful for, attendees’ participation in these endeavors.
