built by Monaco Coach Corporation between October 2000 and
March 2001. The following models are included: 2001 Monaco Diplomat
LE, 2001 Monaco Windsor, 2001 Monaco Scepter, 2001 Monaco Knight,
2001 Monaco Diplomat, 2001 Holiday Rambler Ambassador, 2001, Holiday

On certain type
A motorhomes equipped with Meritor Wabco brake valves -- part number
9738980050, part number 9732980010, or part number 9732980130 -- the
brake valve may stick open when a high-pressure brake application is
released. When the valve sticks open, it can result in a total loss
of air from either the service brake or the parking brake system.
The driver may lose braking ability under a service application,
possibly resulting in a vehicle crash.
Meritor Wabco
will contact the vehicle owners to have the affected relay valves
replaced or rebuilt free of charge. Repair will take place at a
Monaco dealership and will take approximately two hours.
Owner
notification was to begin in February or March 2002. Owners who
would like more information or who do not receive the free remedy
within a reasonable time should contact Meritor Wabco at (800)
535-5560 or Monaco at (877) 466-6226.

Norcold
has voluntarily recalled N841, N821, N641, N621, and 1082
LP-gas/electric refrigerators built in 1999. Affected models have
cooling unit serial numbers (found on the solution chamber and
viewed through the refrigerator vent door outside the RV) from
1038000 through 1099000.
The defect is a
potential cooling unit leak caused during AC electric mode
operation. Because extended operation of a leaking cooling unit in
the AC mode may result in a fire, immediate replacement of the
cooling unit is required. Even if the affected refrigerator has not
shown evidence of a leak to date, the cooling unit must be replaced
to prevent any potential problems in the future. Customers who
previously had the heating element in the refrigerator's cooling
unit replaced must now have the entire cooling unit replaced.
Persons owning
an affected model should:
-
Immediately
switch the refrigerator’s controls to the manual mode and select
LP-gas as its method of operation. Do not set the control to the
auto mode as it will switch to AC power when AC is available.
-
Open the
outside access panel and unplug the electric cord from the
refrigerator.
-
Contact a
dealer/service center to arrange for a service date as soon as
possible. All affected models will have the cooling unit replaced.
-
Call Norcold
at (800) 767-9101 with any questions; to obtain the location of
the nearest Norcold service center; or if the dealer/service
center fails to, or is unable to, remedy this defect within a
reasonable amount of time.
The repairs will
be made at no charge to the customer and will take approximately
three hours; however, because of service schedules, the service
center may need to keep the motorhome longer.
