Fleetwood Enterprises Inc. has announced NHTSA recall 03V304000 (Fleetwood recall no. 30815), which affects 1,085 model-year 2002, 2003, and 2004 Revolution motorhomes.
On certain motorhomes, the electric power for the entry doorstep's “last out” feature has not been provided, and the entry doorstep will not operate in “last out” mode. “Last out” is a safety feature that extends the entry doorstep one last time if the entry doorstep power switch is off and the vehicle ignition is turned off.
Dealers will inspect and provide a power connection so the entry doorstep's “last out” feature is active. The procedure will take approximately 15 minutes. However, because of service scheduling appointments, the repair center may need the vehicle for a longer period of time.

Gulf Stream Coach Inc. has announced NHTSA recall 03V330000, which affects 63 model-year 2002 and 2003 Sun Voyager and Sunsport motorhomes built on the Workhorse W22 chassis.
On these motorhomes, the drop-down brackets used to attach the hitch to the frame rail extensions may not be adequate. If these brackets fail, the hitch and the towed vehicle could become dislodged from the motorhome, increasing the risk of a crash.
Gulf Stream has developed a repair kit that consists of steel brackets, spacers, and mechanical fasteners that are used to strengthen the hitch attachment. The kit can be sent directly to the owner or to a repair facility of the owner’s choosing. The repair will take approximately 30 minutes. However, because of service scheduling appointments, the repair center may need the vehicle for a longer period of time.

Samsung Electronics has announced NHTSA recall 03E044000, which affects approximately 184,000 RV-mounted microwave ovens that were built by Samsung between May 2000 and September 2003 and installed in RVs sold between 2001 and 2003. Microwave oven models included in the recall are MR5491G, MR5491G01, MR5492W, MR5494W01, MR5493G, MR5493G01, MR5494W, MR7491G, MR7491G01, MR7492W, MR7492W01, MR7493G, MR7493G01, MR6698WB, MR6699GB, and MR6699SB. The model number and the date the oven was manufactured can be found on the inside of the microwave oven door.
Samsung has determined that a defective part in the affected microwave ovens may cause the oven to begin operating on its own, which could result in smoke or a fire.
Samsung will repair the microwave ovens free of charge and is currently working with more than 150 RV manufacturers nationwide to arrange to have the microwave ovens repaired. Until these plans are finalized, owners of RVs with an affected oven are instructed to unplug the unit; or, if that is not possible, leave the microwave door ajar, which will prevent it from operating. As a general safety precaution, items should never be stored in microwave ovens or left in ovens after use. Samsung officials note that the company will issue complete recall instructions as soon as the details are finalized.
