Recall Corner December 2006
Damon Corporation
has announced NHTSA recall 06V347000, which affects certain 2006 and some early
Challenger, Daybreak, and Intruder type A motorhomes built between May 2005 and
May 2006. The potential number of coaches involved is 1,592.
On certain motorhomes, some hydraulic lines for
the leveling jack system may be improperly secured or routed too close to a
drivetrain heat source. This may cause the hydraulic line to melt, which could
result in a hydraulic fluid leak that could possibly lead to a fire.
Dealers will inspect and correct any routing or
securement issues, and replace any damaged hoses from the heat source. The work
is expected to take approximately 15 to 90 minutes. However, because of service
scheduling times, the service center may need the vehicle for a longer time
period.

Owner notification began in September 2006.
National RV Inc.
has announced NHTSA recall 06V337000, which affects some 2006 and 2007 Dolphin,
Dolphin LX, Sea Breeze, Sea Breeze LX, and Surf Side type A motorhomes built
between April 1, 2005, and September 30, 2006. The potential number of coaches
involved is 1,321.
Certain motorhomes were not equipped with fuel
fill ground cables. Without proper grounding, an electrostatic discharge could
result during fuel fill-up, potentially leading to a fire.
National RV dealers will install a fuel fill
ground cable. The repair is expected to take approximately 12 minutes. However,
because of service scheduling times, the service center may need your vehicle
for a longer time period.

National RV at (800) 999-7260. Owner notification was expected to begin in
October 2006.
