FMCA National Treasurer

Wilburn (Wil) Young, F207019

Wil and his wife, Claudine, joined FMCA in 1996. Wil was elected national treasurer in 2009. He also serves as chairman of the Finance Committee, and as a member of the Audit Committee and the Wage Review Board. He also served as a member of the Management Committee from 2009-2010.

Prior to being elected national treasurer, Wil served as the first treasurer and chairman of the Finance Committee for the International Area Organization (INTO) for nine years.  He established the initial annual INTO budget and was the comptroller for nine INTO area rallies.  He was chairman of the Nominating Committee that presented the initial slate of officers for INTO.  In addition, he set up and maintained the INTO Web site.

Wil also has served as crew leader for the advance parking crew and served at the Computer Help Desk at international conventions, including recruiting volunteers to serve. He and Claudine have served as greeters at international conventions.
 
Wil and Claudine are members of several chapters, and Wil served as president and vice president of the Bits & Bytes chapter. 

In the Southeast Area, Wil has served on the Commercial Registration Committee and has been a member of the advance parking crew at Southeast Area rallies.

Before retiring from the Internal Revenue Service, Wil was the assistant director of human resources for the Southeast Region, with offices in seven states.  In this capacity he managed the payroll, employment, employee benefits, and union relations programs. Prior to this position, he was director of personnel and manager of the union and employee relations department.  In addition, he chaired groups to develop financial and management courses for managers.  While serving as a member of the U.S. Air Force, he worked in the payroll and personnel departments.

Wil and Claudine have been married for 44 years.  They have two children and two grandchildren.  They are active members of the Blackshear Place Baptist Church. Wil received a bachelor of arts degree in business from Central State University, Edmond, Oklahoma, and has attended numerous continuing professional education programs in the areas of finance, management, and human resources.
