Winnebago Industries Inc. has announced NHTSA recall 08V606000, which affects some 2008 Winnebago Adventurer Limited motorhomes. The affected motorhomes were built February 26, 2008, through May 2, 2008. The potential number of coaches involved is 68.

On certain motorhomes, the windshield wipers may fail to operate properly. Inoperative wipers in inclement weather conditions could cause impaired visibility, which could potentially result in personal injury and/or vehicle and property damage.

Dealers will inspect the windshield wiper system and, if required, will install new wiper linkage from the wiper motor to the pivot assemblies. The repair is expected to take approximately one hour. However, because of service scheduling times, the service center may need the vehicle for a longer time period.

For more information about this recall, contact Winnebago Industries at (641) 585-3535. The recall was expected to begin in December 2008.

Roadtrek Motorhomes Inc. has announced NHTSA recall 08V628000, which affects some 2007 and 2008 Roadtrek SS Agile motorhomes manufactured on Dodge and Freightliner Sprinter 2500 van chassis between November 2007 and August 2008. The potential number of coaches involved is 110.

Certain SS Agile motorhomes fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." The rear hitch-mounted spare tire carrier (Continental spare tire kit) impedes the full visibility of the left taillight. This lack of visibility for motorists behind the vehicle could result in a crash.

Dealers will install a supplementary taillight on the fiberglass cover of the spare tire. The repair is expected to take approximately one hour. However, because of service scheduling times, the service center may need the vehicle for a longer time period.

For more information about this recall, contact Roadtrek at (888) 762-3873. Owner notification was expected to begin in December 2008.

For current information about recalls, including information about the recall history of a particular make and model vehicle, call the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Auto Safety Hotline at (888) 327-4236; or, search the NHTSA recall database. Even if your motorhome is not involved in a current recall, make sure the vehicle manufacturer and the chassis manufacturer have your current contact information on file for any possible future recalls.
