Great Lakes Area ROSS W BOYER, F268985 FMCA National Area Vice President
DESCRIPTION: Apollo Great Lakes Motorhome Club holds five rallies each year one each in May, June, July, August and September. The rallies are usually held in Illinois, Indiana or Michigan with an occasional rally in Wisconsin or Ohio. Our rally schedule calls for rallies to be held the third Friday, Saturday and Sunday of each of the five months. However, it is subject to change if the rallymasters want to incorporate a special event on a different weekend. Members frequently arrive at rally early or stay longer. Although our membership runs approximately 25-30 coaches, we usually have 10-15 coaches in attendance. Our club accepts members from all five states, but in recent years we have not had any members in Wisconsin or Ohio making it difficult to arrange a rally there. The majority of the membership comes from the area along I-74 near the Illinois-Indiana border. Members are part of the 50+ crowd.

DESCRIPTION: Chartered in 2004, after concluding that motor coaches and casinos seemed like a natural combination, our members have formed tight bonds of friendship. While our name implies we are gamblers, that is far from the draw to join this group. We enjoy good old fashioned fun, food, and camaraderie. We have members who don't even gamble, but just enjoy being a part of our diverse group. Our members are mainly from FMCA's Great Lakes Area, but, Virginia is also represented. We travel to Casinos in West Virginia, Indiana, and Michigan for our rallies. We camp in RV parks when available, but are not adverse to dry camping in the casino parking lots. Wherever we camp, we have a great time. We invite you to attend a rally and see for yourself if this group is a fit for you. Email address: casinocruisers@gmail.com
DESCRIPTION: Frustrated Maestros Great Lakes Area is one of 10 Frustrated Maestros chapters (one for each FMCA area), a group whose interest is to have fun with music and to share our music as volunteers at FMCA rallies and conventions. We have all types of musicians--from retirees and professionals to those who have not played nor sung since high school (actually, at one time we had some high school students in our band), and we also have some who do not perform in our concerts at the rallies but support our group in other ways. We have a main band and chorus, and smaller specialty groups--both choral and instrumental, such as Bluegrass, Jazz ensemble, etc., as well as opportunity for solo and novelty acts in all areas. All types of instruments are welcomed--anything anyone comes up with that makes music! We have no auditions or requirements other than that you have to be a member of FMCA and should have an interest in music. We do not have monthly meetings; the GLASS rally (Great Lakes Area Spring Spree) which is held in Berrien Springs, MI, in May each year is our main rally. We usually have a few days pre-rally, then 2 days of rehearsal and perform a concert each day at the GLASS, as well as having some social events for our chapter at Berrien Springs. We usually are joined by members of many other Maestros chapters from all over the country--and our members also participate as volunteers in other area rallies and FMCA international conventions. Our dues are $10 yearly per coach membership.

DESCRIPTION: "Hoosier Cruisers" is a chapter of the Family Motor Coach Association with a membership of over 120 family units. We hold six rallies each year with 25-40 coaches attending. Rallies are held in the Southern, Central and Northern parts of the state. The rallies focus on tours and points of interest that the rally masters believe will be informative, interesting, and fun. The most important thing that happens at the rallies is the reconnection with friends. We share many of our meals together. Sometimes meals are catered and at other times everyone brings their favorite dish. Some of our evening meals are topped off with local entertainment or a campfire where members share great conversation. We welcome all who enjoy the motorhoming lifestyle.
DESCRIPTION: Chartered in 1992, Northern Lights Chapter originally attracted most of its members from Northern Michigan. However, it wasn't long before motor homers from other parts of the state and beyond expressed interest. Today, there are more than 90 NL member families from all parts of Michigan and several other states who look forward to getting together each year at our chapter rallies. Some examples of past rallies: A visit to rustic Beaver Island, a scenic color tour by train, exploring historic places (including Amish country), enjoying great shows, festivals, shopping, and plenty of good food (from potluck meals to fine restaurant dining). Of course, most important, is the opportunity Northern Lights rallies give us to share our love of motor homing with fellow FMCA members. We invite you to visit one of our rallies soon and sample firsthand the Northern Lights experience.
