News from the FMCA national office in Cincinnati, Ohio …

Online campground reservations
FMCA members can visit FMCA.com to make campground reservations through a service provided by Friend Communications.

Search FMCA.com's Business Directory for FMCA commercial member campgrounds. A RESERVE ONLINE NOW link accompanies listings that offer online reservations.

Many commercial member campgrounds offer discounts to FMCA families. Plus, FMCA receives a royalty for all reservations made through the RESERVE ONLINE NOW link on FMCA's Web site.

MEDEX expands coverage
MEDEX Plus (emergency medical assistance program) now covers Hawaii. Thus, FMCA members are covered throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The MEDEX program helps traveling members to manage the complexities and expenses of out-of-area medical and travel emergencies. Members automatically receive this coverage when they join FMCA.

Convention date set
FMCA's 76th International Convention will be held Aug. 14-17, 2006, at Lowes Motor Speedway in Charlotte, N.C. It will be the first FMCA convention held at a motor racing venue, and the first FMCA convention held in North Carolina.

Fee for early arrivals
Effective with FMCA's convention in Minot, N.D., in August 2005, families arriving at the convention site prior to their assigned date of admittance, will be charged $15 per night. The Holding Area and other property contracted by FMCA is considered "on-site" parking for the convention.

Bylaws amendments: term lengths
In November 2004, FMCA's Governing Board approved several amendments to the FMCA Bylaws concerning Executive Board member term lengths.

The national president and the senior vice president may serve no more than one two-year term. The secretary and the treasurer may serve no more than two two-year terms.

Previously, persons in these positions could serve up to three one-year terms, and were required to run for re-election each year.

The Bylaws now permit each of the 10 national vice presidents to serve two two-year terms. Previously, they were limited to four one-year terms.
