MEDEX extended
Experiencing a medical or travel
emergency while away from home can be hard on your emotions and your
pocketbook.
FMCA offers a free member benefit
that helps manage the complexities and emergency evacuation expenses associated with
these situations: the MEDEX Plus emergency medical air and ground
evacuation
program.
This benefit has been so well
received by members that FMCA has extended it through December 2008.
MEDEX Plus provides emergency
evacuation, repatriation and travel assistance, 24 hours a day, 365
days a year. Travel can be for business or pleasure at a distance of
100 or more miles from your primary residence, in the continental
United States, Canada or Mexico.
It’s one benefit that members hope
they never have to use. But they’re grateful it’s there, just in
case.

New insurance option for
international travel
Now, members have the option of purchasing travel medical insurance
when traveling outside the United States.
TravMed Abroad fills the gap in
personal health insurance plans. It can reduce financial concerns
about potential health issues while traveling abroad.
Many members will find the program
worth the few dollars a day, if only for the peace of mind.
A similar program is available to
members who are not U.S. residents.
To enroll or learn more about TravMed,
call (800) 732-5309.
Secure your home or motorhome
FMCA has partnered with Monitronics to provide a discount on home
security monitoring systems and services to FMCA members.

security system packages, free equipment and installation of a basic
system, and discounted rates for monitoring service.

New-edition road atlas
The fourth edition of FMCA’s North American Road Atlas & Travel
Guide was printed in July. The price is still $14.95 each. It can be
ordered at www.fmca.store.com or by calling (800) 543-3622.
The atlas also will be available at
the FMCA merchandise booth during the “Fast Track to Fun” convention
Aug.14-17 in Charlotte/Concord, N.C.
As of July 1, FMCA has been sending
the fourth-edition atlas free to each member family that recruits
another member.
Earn rewards through U.S. Bank
FMCA has partnered with U.S. Bank to offer a new credit card
program. Members can earn a reward point for each dollar spent, and they
can redeem points for cash, merchandise or air miles on any airline.
Point reward choices also include
specially selected travel- and leisure-related merchandise:
Samsonite luggage, Sony electronics, and Canon cameras and video
recorders.
In addition, points can be used
toward gift certificates for car rentals, restaurants and more.
The U.S. Bank program’s lower
redemption thresholds let the cardholder claim rewards sooner.
Certificate redemption begins as low as 5,000 points, and members
automatically earn 2,500 points when they enroll.
