Newmar will introduce the 2012 Bay Star Sport type A motorhome at the 49th annual National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Ky., Nov. 29 to Dec 1.
The gas-powered Bay Star Sport will be offered in four models ranging from 27 feet to 33 feet in length. The Sport is built on a Ford F-53 chassis and powered by a Ford Triton V-10 engine.
Newmar plans to build the Bay Star Sport using the same construction, air conditioning system and slideout mechanism the company uses on all of its other products, yet offer this entry-level motorhome at a lower price point.
“The success Newmar has had with the 2012 Ventana LE since its introduction at last year’s show in Louisville prompted our company to take similar approach in developing a lower-cost version of our Bay Star gas motorhome,” said John Sammut Newmar’s vice president of sales.”
The base suggested retail price for the Bay Star is $93,450 for the 2702 model with two slideouts.
Standard features include:
gel-coated fiberglass side walls with vinyl graphics;
a Dometic 6-cubic-coot refrigerator;
a 32-inch LCD TV in the front living area;
a Dometic patio awning; and
a one-piece tinted windshield.
Optional equipment includes a partial exterior paint treatment, a hydraulic leveling system, slide out awnings and 600-watt inverter.
The Bay Star Sport will be available in two interior packages along with two wood finishes.
