The 2012 Itasca Meridian 42E offers a full-wall slideout on the passenger side. Winnebago Industries Inc. has introduced the new tag-axle 42E to its 2012 Winnebago Journey and Itasca Meridian Class A diesel lineup.

The 42E, which is equipped with three slidouts, is the first tag-axle floor plan in the Journey and Meridian lines. It offers a bath-and-a-half layout with a full-wall slideout on the passenger side. Within this area are:

  • a 40-inch LCD HDTV;
  • a Euro Recliner with pull-out table;
  • a buffet with extendable dining table and chairs;
  • a four-door refrigerator; and
  • a pantry and residential-style bedroom wardrobe.

The living area also offers a Rest Easy extendable sectional sofa, a tray ceiling design and a polished ceramic tile.

The mid-coach galley features a pull-out island with three drawers on full-extension slides.

The bedroom is set off by a wardrobe that features full-length clothes rods, his-and-hers three-drawer units, and an adjustable shoe shelf. A queen bed is nestled in the slideout, along with dual nightstands. A power-adjustable king bed is optional.

The private master bath in the rear of the coach features a spacious “BIG Shower” as well as plenty of storage, with a washer-dryer optional. A half bath sits mid-coach.

The 42E is built on Winnebago’s Maxum lowered-rail chassis, which has a gross vehicle weight rating of 44,320 pounds. It is powered by an 8.9-liter, 400-horsepower Cummins ISL turbocharged diesel engine.
