The U.S. Forest Service, in December 2009, proposed a new policy for the acceptance of Interagency Passes at concession-operated campgrounds and day use recreation sites on national forests and grasslands. The final day to submit public comments to be considered in the development of any final version of the proposed changes is Feb. 1, 2010.

The Arizona State Parks Board, at its Jan. 15 meeting, voted to keep nine parks open and close 13 state parks because six different state parks funds are being swept of $8.6 million.

Arizona state parks in jeopardy Print Email

Arizona may close 13 of its 27 state park because of an $8.6 million reduction in the state parks' operating budget. The Arizona State Parks Board will meet Jan 15 to consider the proposed closures and ways to keep parks open.
