Ranch Beef Cheese Ball

Cheddar Cheese Ball spiked with ranch-style ranch dressing mix and dried beef.


At a glance
  • 16-ounce cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups finely shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 one-ounce package ranch-style salad dressing mix, less 1 T. (DO NOT use Ranch DIP Mix - much too salty!)
  • 1 package dried beef, diced
  • 2 whole green onions, thinly sliced


In large mixer bowl, blend softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and dressing mix powder. Add diced beef and thinly sliced green onions and mix well. Form into 2 balls, wrap and refrigerate. (Instead of making balls, I scoop the mixture into a couple of decorative bowls, cover and chill.)

Additional Tips

Serve with snack crackers, spread on bagels, as a filling for celery sticks, or soften to serve as a topping for baked potatoes.The mixture is very still when removed from the refrigerator, so I set it out about 30 minutes before serving, or microwave it for about 20 seconds.
