Two Things You Must Check Before Connecting a Motorhome to Shore Power
Gary Bunzer discusses two things RVers should do before plugging in to any AC electric power pedestal, such as at a campground. 1. Measure the actual voltage -- 120 volts plus or minus 10 percent -- coming from the campground so it is safe for your motorhome. Verify the polarity by with a non-contact proximity tester. This can prevent electrical issues that can occurr inside the motorhome.
