Committee Volunteers
Efforts of members helping each other
have helped FMCA to become the premier motorhome
association. Volunteerism is evident in nearly every
aspect of Family Motor Coach Association, including
government and legislative affairs.
FMCA members throughout the United
States and Canada serve as Government and Legislative
Affairs Committee volunteers. These individuals have been
trained to assist FMCA members as needed with parking
rights and other government-related issues. For example,
volunteers may:
- deliver written communications;
- appear
before legislative committees hearing testimony on Senate
or House bills;
- contact elected legislators to convey FMCA's
position on matters that may affect members.
FMCA also has volunteer state chairpersons who live in or
near state capital cities and run errands for the
committee at their statehouse when legislation of
importance to FMCA is under consideration.
The
volunteer chairpersons sign in and deliver
letters to legislative hearing secretaries and may research
matters of interest to FMCA. They're always willing and
able to help when called upon.
FMCA members can become FMCA Governmental and Legislative
Affairs Committee volunteers. To
