Motorhome Chapter Spotlight | FMCA
"Leaving tracks by giving back" is the motto of this Southern California group.

The Golden State Trackers is an FMCA chapter that was formed in 2007. Members live throughout Southern California. From the very beginning, our motto has been “Leaving tracks by giving back." Along with giving, our purpose is to get together with like-minded friends on a regular basis for good times and camaraderie.
Currently we have 24 member families in the chapter, and we are always looking for new friends to join us as we visit rally sites and “give back” along the way.
Golden State Trackers members include some RVers who still work, but most are retired. We have couples and singles who come from a variety of backgrounds. It translates into a group with all sorts of skills and knowledge, and we enjoy sharing with one another for the benefit of all.
Southern California is blessed with many wonderful rally sites within easy driving distance. One of our favorites is the Wine Country RV Resort in Paso Robles, where we met last November to celebrate both Thanksgiving and Christmas. We also like Pacific Dunes RV Resort in Oceano, Boulder Creek RV Resort near Lone Pine, and Orange Grove RV Park in Bakersfield. Sometimes we even travel out of state for a rally in Pahrump or Las Vegas, Nevada.
You're welcome to check out a rally with us this year; just let us know ahead of time for reservation purposes. For our rally schedule, see our Web site, www.gstrackers.org, or check the Association Calendar in Family Motor Coaching magazine and online at FMCA.com.
While we're at a rally location, nothing gives us greater pleasure than keeping true to our motto of “giving back." During a recent gathering at Orange Grove RV Park, we collected personal care products desperately needed by a local women’s shelter. The donations were greatly appreciated, and a front-page article appeared in the local newspaper, giving the chapter and FMCA some public recognition. At Paso Robles last November, we gave toys to deserving children. We have helped with food preparation and distribution at a Bakersfield homeless shelter, and with food, clothing, and book drives in various communities.
While at a rally, we also like to visit nearby attractions. We have toured the wine country of Paso Robles, visited the Calico Ghost Town, picked fresh oranges from the trees in Orange Grove, gone to a fair in Tehachapi, and visited museums and parks.
