Read Member F470953 GAIL RUSSELL's Review of the Tech Connect+ Sprint MIFI Plan Below:

Signed up for FMCA Tech Connect+ and taking advantage of the Sprint Unlimited Hotspot Plan

I would say I started with Hotspot Authorization at 11:30AM, it is now 8PM and my Hotspot Battery is at 32%.

I am very pleased with both the Franklin R-910 Hotspot and the Sprint unlimited data plan. Everything is working flawlessly. I am in a rural area, 30 miles from the nearest city (Buffalo, NY) and I have had enough signal strength to do everything I wanted to do on my computers & tablets and ereaders, fast & flawlessly.

I found the Hotspot intuitive to use and easy to operate. I even liked the way it felt with its rubber armour coating! After 8-1/2 hours of continuous running, the Hotspot feels cool to the touch all over. If I had to tell one Hotspot fault, it would be the display screen font type is very small, making it hard to read.

Tomorrow I will play around with more of my WiFi capable devices and let you know what I think. The unlimited data plan is just great to have! No more running to public hotspots for me like when my old data plan was getting near its limit. I am in Computer Nerd Heaven!

FMCA members carolyn and George PearsonFMCA membership number: F336208

Our current motorhome:
2006 Travel Supreme Insignia, 42'

Three words that best describe our motorhome:
Our Land Yacht

The best thing about our motorhome:
Our coach is our home away from home.

Other motorhomes we’ve owned:
We owned a 1995 Dolphin, and 2001½ Fleetwood Discovery

We decided to buy a motorhome because:
We have traveled and lived the world, and we wanted to travel our country, the great Untied States of America.

Our occupations:
My wife and I are managers and program analysts for the U.S. Border Patrol, Department of Homeland Security.

Children:
We have three children: Stacey, George III and Jennifer, and six grandchildren.

We travel in our motorhome:
Approximately seven months (every other weekend) of the year. When we’re not motorhoming we’re: Working and going to church.

Our favorite motorhoming destination:
Quantico Marine Base, Site: Cedar 6.

Our all-time favorite motorhoming memory:
Traveling to Wildwood, N.J., for our wedding anniversary. We spent our honeymoon there in 1974.

Our “dream” motorhome trip:
To travel around the U.S. for six straight months. We are planning this now for when we retire in a few years. Some of the main highlights of the trip: Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Las Vegas, Mount Rushmore, The four corners.

Our perfect day of motorhome travel:
Driving to Wildwood, NJ.

Our worst motorhoming experience:
Having five flat tires on one trip. We had a good lesson about tires on our very first RV (Tires 101).

Our motorhoming pet peeve:
Four wheelers cutting you off.

The best addition or alteration we’ve made to our motorhome:
I (George) added a leather booth to the dining area, on the Travel Supreme.

If we could change one thing about our motorhome, it would be:
Put tile floors all the way though the coach.

Something about motorhoming that we know now but did NOT know when we started:
You must check the dates on the tires when you buy a coach. Tires that may look good, may be too old or have set for a long time. Also, check the safe max speed stamped on the tires.

When driving a motorhome, the most important thing to remember is:
Giving yourself enough time and space for stopping your coach.

Carolyn and George Pearson enjoy the motorhome lifestyle. Our advice for other motorhome owners:
Try to do the speed limit on highways. Because a motorhome is one of the biggest vehicles on the road, traveling less than the speed limit can cause your coach to be an oversized problem. And that can cause accidents when other vehicles try to pass you.

Our hobbies:
George: flying model aiplanes. Carolyn: Shopping.

Favorite restaurant: Outback Steakhouse

A celebrity we admire: TD Jakes

Something others would be surprised to know about us:  Good question!

If we were awarded a shopping spree at the store of our choice, the store we’d choose is:
George: Harbor Freight. Carolyn: Ross Sporting Goods.

Favorite campground:
Quintico Marine Base (Lungra Park)

When motorhomers visit our state or hometown, they should be sure to see:
Washington, D.C.

Items that we always keep in our motorhome’s refrigerator while traveling:
Cold beverages

Our advice to new motorhomers:
Before buying your new coach, get with someone who has had a coach for some time, and let them inform you of the dos and don’ts. Also, do your homework. Getting the right coach will make your RVing more enjoyable.

Behind our motorhome, we tow:
A 2007 Ford Sportac 4X4 V8, with a Blue Ox tow bar and hitch

Pets that travel with us:
We have one stuffed dog.

When we’re online, Web sites we like to visit:
Camping World, FMCA.com

A technical or travel tip we’d like to share with other motorhome owners:
Set up a time when you do annual maintenance on the coach (at least once a year, no matter the mileage).

We joined FMCA because:
To make new friends and go to the big rallies. And to be part of an outstanding organization that cares about its members.

FMCA chapter that we belong to:
Mid South Runners

Other comments: Have fun in your coach and stay safe.
