Read Member F470953 GAIL RUSSELL's Review of the Tech Connect+ Sprint MIFI Plan Below:

Signed up for FMCA Tech Connect+ and taking advantage of the Sprint Unlimited Hotspot Plan

I would say I started with Hotspot Authorization at 11:30AM, it is now 8PM and my Hotspot Battery is at 32%.

I am very pleased with both the Franklin R-910 Hotspot and the Sprint unlimited data plan. Everything is working flawlessly. I am in a rural area, 30 miles from the nearest city (Buffalo, NY) and I have had enough signal strength to do everything I wanted to do on my computers & tablets and ereaders, fast & flawlessly.

I found the Hotspot intuitive to use and easy to operate. I even liked the way it felt with its rubber armour coating! After 8-1/2 hours of continuous running, the Hotspot feels cool to the touch all over. If I had to tell one Hotspot fault, it would be the display screen font type is very small, making it hard to read.

Tomorrow I will play around with more of my WiFi capable devices and let you know what I think. The unlimited data plan is just great to have! No more running to public hotspots for me like when my old data plan was getting near its limit. I am in Computer Nerd Heaven!

The Schwark family, motorhomers from Alberta, CanadaFMCA membership number:
F407311 (we joined FMCA in 2009)

Our current motorhome:
2002 Holiday Rambler Vacationer, 35-foot

Three words that best describe our motorhome:
Our diamond in the rough

The best thing about our motorhome:
It’s a motorhome we can afford as a “young” family

Other motorhomes we’ve owned:
This is our first.

We decided to buy a motorhome because:
We don’t have to own a truck to go camping. The motorhome is a lot more convenient for us. We sold our truck and our camping trailer and think we made the best decision ever.

Our occupations:
I am a field service technician for a medical instruments manufacturer. My wife is an administrative assistant with the City of Edmonton.

Our daughter, Jewell, is 10 years old.

We travel in our motorhome:
Since we have to work, our motorhome is mostly for extended weekend travel. When we aren’t traveling, we are working and keeping our newly purchased home in shape.

Our favorite motorhoming destinations:
Pocahontas at Jasper National Park

Our all-time favorite motorhome trip:
We have only owned a motorhome since 2008 and are still working on this experience.

Our “dream” motorhome trip:
A trip from Edmonton, Alberta, across the North American continent to Disney World in Orlando Fla.

Our perfect day of motorhome travel:
Every day I can spend in my motorhome is a perfect day.

Our worst motorhoming experience:
We don’t have one yet and hope it will still take a while to get to this.

Our motorhoming pet peeve:
My pet peeve is if stuff brakes simply by being careless. I hate this and often get grumpy if I find something broke and nobody tells me about it.

The best addition or alteration we’ve made to our motorhome:
So far I installed a 120-watt solar panel on the roof. More to come!

If we could change one thing about our motorhome, it would be:
Getting rid of the carpet.

Something about motorhoming that we know now but did NOT know when we started:
How much easier motorhoming is compared to our travel trailer.

When driving a motorhome, the most important thing to remember is:
The size.

Our advice for other motorhome owners:
Slow down and enjoy the journey. Too often I get passed on the highway by motorhomers going 70 mph.

Our hobbies:
For me the motorhome upkeep has become a hobby. My wife, being a Native Canadian Indian (to be politically correct, “First Nation of Canada,” is into Native crafts.

Favorite restaurant:
Bonanza Western Grill on 137 Avenue in Edmonton, Alberta

Something others would be surprised to know about us:
I served in the German Armed Forces and I am a retired German Army Staff Sergeant.

If we were awarded a shopping spree at the store of our choice, the store we’d choose:
Since we just purchased a new house in April 2009, it would be Lazy Boy Furniture Outlet.

Favorite campground:
Pocahontas, at Jasper National Park

When motorhomers visit our state or hometown, they should be sure to see:
West Edmonton Mall (bigger and better than Mall of America),  Fort Edmonton Park

Items that we always keep in our motorhome’s refrigerator while traveling:
Milk for my wife and daughter. Beer for me.

Our advice to new motorhomers:
Don’t rush into the purchase. It took us two years to find the motorhome we like.

Behind our motorhome, we tow:
A 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara four wheels down with a Demco tow bar

Pets that travel with us:
Princes a registered Ragdoll (cat) and Baby, a Siamese cat

When we’re online, Web sites we like to visit:, IRV2,, Facebook, Kijiji

A technical or travel tip we’d like to share with other motorhome owners:
I am the one who needs all the tips and advise I can get.

Other comments:
Life is the longest journey you will ever take, so get comfortable, sit back and enjoy the ride.
