Read Member F470953 GAIL RUSSELL's Review of the Tech Connect+ Sprint MIFI Plan Below:

Signed up for FMCA Tech Connect+ and taking advantage of the Sprint Unlimited Hotspot Plan

I would say I started with Hotspot Authorization at 11:30AM, it is now 8PM and my Hotspot Battery is at 32%.

I am very pleased with both the Franklin R-910 Hotspot and the Sprint unlimited data plan. Everything is working flawlessly. I am in a rural area, 30 miles from the nearest city (Buffalo, NY) and I have had enough signal strength to do everything I wanted to do on my computers & tablets and ereaders, fast & flawlessly.

I found the Hotspot intuitive to use and easy to operate. I even liked the way it felt with its rubber armour coating! After 8-1/2 hours of continuous running, the Hotspot feels cool to the touch all over. If I had to tell one Hotspot fault, it would be the display screen font type is very small, making it hard to read.

Tomorrow I will play around with more of my WiFi capable devices and let you know what I think. The unlimited data plan is just great to have! No more running to public hotspots for me like when my old data plan was getting near its limit. I am in Computer Nerd Heaven!

FMCA membership number: F367924 (we joined in 2005)FMCA members Jim and Jane Galbavy

Our current motorhome:
A 1973 GMC Canyonlands, 26-foot. Her name is “Annie.” It’s our first motorhome.

Three words that best describe our motorhome:
Affordable, comfortable, maneuverable

The best thing about our motorhome:
Given the size of our GMC, it can take us almost anywhere.

We decided to buy a motorhome because:
We like to travel and tour, and our GMC motorhome makes it possible to do it on our schedule.

Our occupations:
Jim: retired U.S. Army. Jane: homemaker.

Children:
We have one daughter, Jennifer.

When we’re not motorhoming, we’re:
Home. We take three to four two- to three-week trips a year plus attend rallies with other GMC motorhome clubs throughout the year.

Our favorite motorhoming destinations:
Mount Dora, Fla.

Our “dream” trip:
New England and Canada

Our perfect day of motorhome travel:
No traffic, no breakdowns, no accidents and no glare

Our worst motorhoming experience:
August in Florida with one roof air conditioner and no shade

Our motorhoming pet peeve:
Drivers who think you can stop on a dime and/or pull out in front of you.

The best alteration we’ve made to our motorhome:
We extended the kitchen cabinet and countertop.

If we could change one thing about our motorhome, it would be:
More storage

Something about motorhoming that we know now but did NOT know when we started:
Winterizing

When driving the motorhome, the most important thing to remember is:
Plan your routes in advance (when you can) and make your turns wide.

Advice for other motorhome owners:
Slow down and enjoy the trip.

Our hobbies:
Jim: golf, motorcycles and genealogy. Jane: reading, crosswords, jigsaws, genealogy, home improvements.

Favorite restaurant:
Vincent’s Italian Restaurant in Mount Dora, Fla.

A celebrity we admire:
George Clooney for his humanitarian work in Darfur

If we were awarded a shopping spree at the store of our choice:
We’d choose Target.

Favorite campground:
Noccalula Falls Campground, Gadsden, Ala.
Endless Caverns Campgrounds, New Market, Va.

When motorhomers visit our state or hometown, they should be sure to see:
Chesterfield is a suburb of Richmond, Va. In Richmond, visit: Lewis Center Botanical Gardens, Maymont Park, the Children’s Museum of Richmond and the numerous Civil War sites. Also in Virginia: Blue Ridge Parkway, Chesapeake Bay, Jamestown and Yorktown.

Items that we always keep in our motorhome refrigerator while traveling:
Eggs, string cheese, salad “fixings” and fruit

Our advice to new motorhome owners:
Set a budget. Watch your coach’s gross weight. Live your dreams.

Pets who travel with us:
Two Boston terriers: Missie and Yogi, named for my (Jim’s) childhood hero, Yogi Berra.

When we’re online, Web sites we like to visit:
Too many to list

A technical tip we’d like to share with other motorhome owners:
Don’t over or under inflate your tires. Also, don’t over or under fill your coach’s fluids.

We joined FMCA because:
FMCA underwrites our international, regional and local GMC motorhome clubs.

FMCA chapters that we belong to:
GMC Tidewater Crabs – president, past vice president and FMCA national director
GMC Dixielanders
GMC Eastern States
GMC Motorhomes International

Other comments:
We are hoping to make the FMCA convention in Bowling Green, Ohio, in July 2009. Bowling Green means a lot to me (Jim). This was my mother’s hometown and I spent many summers there as a child. We’ll be able to connect with family and see how the town has changed.
