How often does your pet accompany you on motorhome trips?
All the time
Does your pet have any favorite travel destinations?
Any place that has tall grass!
What do you like best about motorhoming with your pet?
She is not a back-seat driver.
Was it easy for your pet to adapt to motorhome travel?
Yes. Her very first trip was to Alaska in 2005 … a total of 11,000 miles.
Does your pet have a favorite spot in the motorhome?
Yes, on the floor between the driver’s seat and the passenger seat. She has her own elevated seat and she keeps watch on the back window. If a semi truck gets too close to me, she gets downright hostile.
What are your pet’s favorite toys?
A soft fuzzy ball. She loves to play soccer ball with me. I throw it and she head butts it back to me. I have to schedule at least 15 minutes morning and afternoon to keep her happy.
What type of motorhome do you own?
A 2000 Coach House wide body 19-foot van on a Dodge chassis. The manufacturer is here in Florida, but the Class B is not in production there any longer.
Have you modified your motorhome in any way to better accommodate your pet?
Her elevated seat between the driver and passenger seats.
What is your favorite activity to do with your pet while traveling?
Taking her on walks around the campgrounds. She loves to meet and greet!
Advice for other motorhomers who travel with pets or are considering traveling with pets?
Acclimate them to the inside of the RV; teach them how to get in and out; and take them for short rides even if it’s in a large parking lot.
