Motorhoming | Family Motor Coach Association

FMCA membership number: F269999 (joined in 1999) Roger and LeeAnn LeRoy

Our current motorhome:
Tiffin Allegro bus, 35 feet long

Three words that best describe our motorhome:
Comfortable, well-built and gets us from point A to point B

The best thing about our motorhome:
Got the bugs worked out

Other motorhomes we’ve owned:
A Winnebago and another Allegro

We decided to buy a motorhome because:
For the adventure and to relax

Our occupations:
Roger: retired home builder and now a part-time coach driver for a motor coach company. LeeAnn is a retired beauty salon supervisor and window treatment designer.

Children, grandchildren:
Three children: one girl and two boys. Five grandchildren: three boys and two girls. The oldest one is in college already.

When we’re not motorhoming:
We travel in our motorhome in the summer months of the year. During the rest of the year we’re involved in our FMCA chapter — the Badger chapter. Roger is vice president and soon-to-be president. LeeAnn is treasurer and soon will be secretary. We’re also on our village zoning board and church organizations. LeeAnn is a quilter and volunteers with church activities.

Our favorite motorhoming destinations:
Wilderness State Park in northern Michigan, and Winona, Minn.

Our all-time favorite motorhome trip:
Branson, Mo. — the hills were awesome!

Our “dream” motorhome trip:
To see the colors in New England and Alaska.

Our perfect day of motorhome travel:
No wind, no humidity and no traffic!

Our worst motorhoming experience:
When we had a fuel pump failure and we didn’t know if it was bad fuel or what, but we “limped” all the way home. Thank goodness we were only 50 miles from home.

Our motorhoming pet peeve:
Pet owners who do not pick up doggie pooh.

The best addition we’ve made to our motorhome:
An exterior sewer hose storage area

If we could change one thing about our motorhome, it would be:
In-floor heating and all hardwood floor

Something about motorhoming that we know now but did NOT know when we started:
That fuel was going to be a major investment.

When driving a motorhome, the most important thing to remember is:
To be aware of your surroundings. Roger always says, “Don’t talk to the driver” and “Enjoy the ride.”

Advice for other motorhome owners:
Check out the motorhome’s construction and try it before you buy it.

Our hobbies:
LeeAnn loves to quilt, bake and host rallies. Roger likes to tinker around with many things.

Favorite restaurant: Texas Road House

Celebrities we admire: John Travolta and Oprah Winfrey

Something others would be surprised to know about us:
How long we have been married

If we were awarded a shopping spree at the store of our choice, the store we’d choose is:
LeeAnn would choose Harrods in London … she was there once but could not afford much. Roger would shop at Fleet Farm or Menards.

Favorite campground:
Stoney Creek RV Resort and Campground in Osseo Wisc.

When motorhomers visit our state or hometown, they should be sure to see:
Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame, Lambeau Field, National Railroad Museum and Heritage Hill State Park, all in Green Bay

Items that we always keep in our motorhome’s refrigerator while traveling:
Milk, water and homemade soup

Our advice to new motorhomers:
Try it before you buy it and read FMC magazine and others for tips and advice. Don’t take advice from just anyone … research and get a second opinion.

Behind our motorhome, we tow:
A 2000 Saturn wagon with a tow bar

Pets that travel with us:
Claire our longhaired daschund, when we can’t farm her out

When we’re online, Web sites we like to visit: and other motorhoming sites. Shopping sites.

A technical or travel tip we’d like to share with other motorhome owners:
Don’t listen to non-motorhome people who think they know what a motorhome is all about.

We joined FMCA because:
The member benefits and to meet people with a common interest

An FMCA chapter that we belong to:
Badger Chapter with a membership of 225 members. The Badgers celebrated their 42nd year as a club. As Badgers, we always volunteer for various jobs at the local rallies as well as some national events, mostly as courtesy cart volunteers.

Other comments:
We have made some lasting friendships belonging to FMCA!
